EverQuest comes to Pocket PCsBy Jørgen Sundgot, Wednesday 13 November 2002
No longer will players of Sony's extremely popular online RPG EverQuest be tied to their PC to get their daily fix; a Pocket PC client will arrive before Thanksgiving.

Sony Online Entertainment today revealed that the company is in the final stages of development on EverQuest for the Pocket PC - but for those who are jumping through the roof by the prospect of playing EverQuest wirelessly on their Pocket PC there's a little surprise in store; the game is single-player only.

Pocket PC owners can soon take EverQuest with them everywhere
In EverQuest for the Pocket PC, players will be brought into the world of Norrath to save the populous from an evil undead army with an isometric view of the action as they become one of four character classes and complete 10 quests across 15 different adventure areas.

Expected to be available before Thanksgiving with an MSRP of $19.95 USD, EverQuest For the Pocket PC features a game world where players can create characters in four different classes including Dwarven Warrior, High Elf Magician, Human Wizard, or Wood Elf Druid. Characters gain skills, powers and special abilities as they grow in experience through completion of quests, defeating enemies in battle, and adventuring.

Other features include ,ore than 25 types of monsters, including Skeletons, Orcs, Zombies, and Necromancers, each with their own attack style and unique attributes, 12 different levels of experience giving players character growth potential to handle any enemy, hundreds of items to collect, sell and use, from swords and shields to one of a kind magical items - all in a large game world with locales familiar to EverQuest players including Freeport, Oasis and Neriak, and dungeons such as Befallen, the Spectral Isles, and Freeport Tunnels.

For those who want more information, Sony recommends paying special attention to the official EverQuest For the Pocket PC website.
