Speedway Jam! for SMP 2002By Sindre Lia, Friday 11 October 2002
Speedway Jam! developed by Amazing Games will be one of the first game releases for MS Smartphone 2002 later this month, packed with everything you need for an arcade racer.

Devices based on MS Smartphone 2002 will soon hit the market, and many companies already present in the handheld industry are eagerly awaiting the official launch. The game Speedway Jam! Mobile Edition - an arcade racer developed by Amazing Games - will be among the first game releases for Microsoft's new mobile platform at the end of this month.

Prior to developing the game, Amazing Games had a vision to combine one of the most accessible and action oriented racing games ever created - Sega Daytona USA - with the more in-depth structure and invitation to explore that you find in Polyphony Digital's acclaimed Gran Turismo series.

Speedway Jam! will be shipped with two game modes; Arcade and Career, and according to the description of the game you'll get the chance of creating and developing a character that suits your style of driving. More than twenty Touring Cars, Sports cars, Racing Cars and Formula Cars will be available at different price tags, but most importantly, you will have to qualify for licenses to drive them.

If you manage to balance your investments between quick fixes such as Nitro boosts or long-term upgrades, licenses and new cars, you will get access to several tracks and cars throughout the game. The cars and tracks will be presented one bye one on Amazing Games' web site until Speedway Jam! launches. If the graphics and the game play will be as brilliant as Amazing Games claims it to be is yet to be proven. Regardless, you'll find a few screenshots from the game below.
