Sony has released details on the CLIE PEG-SJ30, its new Japanese model. The device appears to be the same as the US-targetd SJ20, with the new SJ form factor, T-series connector, 320x320 pixel Sony HighRes screen, and scroll wheel and back button. The SJ30 is the first member of the new SJ low-end series to be announced in Japan, which is unusual since typically Sony releases their new product in Japan first before announcing American or European versions. That also means that generally the American and European versions have a higher product number than the Japanese version, whereas the opposite is true here. The PEG-SJ30 is expected to ship on 14 September for 29,800 yen (roughtly $250 USD).
