You can't? Well, there's only one solution to that, and that's grabbing a hold of the new WQV-10 model in Casio's wristwatch camera line, which is capable of shooting color pics.
If you're like most other people, there are probably a great deal of situations where you would have loved to take a snapshot there and then - but didn't have your camera with you. And since what makes the best photos is unpredictable situations, you should ideally have a camera with you all the time if you like taking pictures. However, for any other people than photo journalists and hobby photographers that's out of the question. Or is it?
 | We can hear the sales pitch already: "Now, if you're looking for something truly portable...
| Casio's new WQV-10 wristwatch, which goes on sale in Japan on November 23rd, is the successor to earlier Casio wristwatches with integrated digital cameras that have allowed users to take snapshots from their wrist with a few quick button presses anywhere and anytime. The WQV-10, however, is unlike its predecessors capable of both taking and displaying pictures in color and not just viewing them in black and white, which is a big step up.
The camera has a resolution of 250,000 pixels (176 x 144) and is capable of taking 16-bit color pictures that can be displayed on the 12-bit STN color display on the watch. Up to a maximum of 100 pictures can be stored on the built-in memory, and images can be transferred to a PC via the infrared port at a rate of 115 Kbps. Also, the camera has a 2x digital zoom, and is waterproof for use in daily life - in other words, don't try scuba diving with it.
Casio must be expecting to sell quite a few WQV-10s as the company will begin manufacturing it at an initial rate of 20,000 per month, but unfortunately the company has not yet said which price the wristwatch will be selling for in Japan. As for pictures though, we've got a few of our own in hi-res of the WQV-10 that you can take a look at on the following pages if you'd like.
