Google teams up with Ford and GM to deliver Google Maps' Send-To-Car service, which now reaches more than 20 different car brands.
Google today announced that drivers of Ford, Lincoln and Mercury vehicles in the U.S. enabled with Ford Sync can now send business listings or addresses found on Google Maps directly to their cars. In addition, OnStar equipped GM vehicles, including Buick, Cadillac, Chevrolet, GMC, Hummer, Pontiac, Saab and Saturn, can now make use of the same Send-To-Car service.
With today's additions, drivers can send destinations from Google Maps directly to their connected vehicles in 19 countries and more than 20 different brands. In the U.S. alone, Send-To-Car is now available on more than 15 car brands, and Google hopes to add more partners soon. Here's a video demonstration of Send-To-Car in action:
