10 Hot Shots Taken with 10 Top Digital CamerasBy Mike Perlman, 21 June 2010
We wrangled 10 of our favorite image samples taken with some of our top digital cameras. Check out our exclusive photo gallery here.

Betwixt Bridges – Pentax K2000
This shot is probably our favorite, taken with a very slow shutter and tight aperture at that golden moment of the night where the colors of the lights provide a spectrum across the water. The Pentax K2000 offered the ability to capture images like this one, and for that we held the entry-level DSLR as one of our favorites.

Big Green – Nikon D700
We take our fair share of motorcycle shots, but the Nikon D700 in conjunction with a Nikkor fish-eye sealed the deal. Not only did the Nikon D700 capture professional images, but it was easy to shoot with and was compatible with a decent selection of high quality glass.

Perpendicular Stream – Canon PowerShot SX210 IS
The Canon PowerShot SX210 IS is one of our favorite point-and-shoots of 2010. We went for a quick shutter speed here, which isolated the water flow to a reasonable rolling dribble and the mist took care of the rest. The ease of use and versatility of the SX210 IS is what sold us on this camera.

DC Shoes – Olympus E-PL1
Not only does the Olympus E-PL1 capture beautiful Micro Four Thirds images, but the camera also comes equipped with a great suite of Art modes. Here we went for Pop Art and our image ended up looking like an ad for DC shoes.

The Art of Pollination – Pentax K-7
We just seem to have the most luck with Pentax. Knowing that this bee was quite busy and ready to take flight, we narrowed the focus down to the very center of the flower and opted for a wide aperture. As a result, the foreground and background of the flower are soft, casting a delicate haze upon the bee. The Pentax K-7 was by far our favorite Pentax, and one of the best DSLRs on the market.

Looming Building – Panasonic Lumix DMC-G1
With a slow shutter speed, tight aperture, and tripod, it took us roughly four tries to obtain this image. The Panasonic Lumix DMC-G1 was the first Micro Four Thirds camera to hit the market, and it still remains one of the best.

Mansell Mountain Panorama – Nikon Coolpix S8000
We liked the Nikon Coolpix S8000 better than the Nikon Coolpix L110 because it let us play with color and was more user friendly. This panoramic shot is an example of what the S8000 and a decent stitch program can do.

Monarch – Casio Exilim EX-FH100
The Casio Exilim EX-FH100 was the first from the company to really wow us in the image department. With just two takes, we were able to obtain this perfectly focused image of a butterfly right before it flew away. Casio is on the road to improvement and we applaud the company's progress.

Paul Bunyan – Nikon Coolpix P100
The Nikon Coolpix P100 has become a very popular camera this year, thanks to its 1080p HD video, impressive image quality, spread of manual controls, and big zoom. We just thought a picture of the world's largest Paul Bunyan statue was a must.

Kayaking Echo Lake – Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZS7
Just one snap while balancing in a boat with waves rocking us all over was all we needed to snag this shot with the Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZS7. We really liked the ZS7's image performance and great set of manual controls.
