Samsung Galaxy S Coming to T-Mobile, Clear in 2010By Sindre Lia, 6 May 2010
The Samsung Galaxy S, a direct competitor to the upcoming iPhone HD, is expected to be offered by T-Mobile and Clear in 2010.

When Samsung announced the Samsung Galaxy S, the company promised to deliver a full ecosystem for HD videos optimized for this phone. It now turns out that T-Mobile and Clear will likely offer HSPA+ and Mobile WiMAX versions of the Samsung Galaxy S, respectively. Check out our video demonstration and specifications of the Samsung Galaxy S below. And just for the record, the Samsung Galaxy S is Samsung's direct answer to the upcoming Apple iPhone HD:

Samsung Galaxy Super AMOLED 4-inch touchscreen

At the center of Samsung's Smart Life phone, there's a 4-inch Super AMOLED touchscreen with mDNIe technology and a WVGA (800 by 480 pixels) resolution.

Samsung Galaxy Sports Android 2.1

Android 2.1 has been on everybody's lips in the last couple of months after the introduction of the Nexus One, and the Samsung Galaxy S will rock the floor with the latest and greatest Android version too.

Samsung Galaxy Sharing via DLNA

DLNA-equipped (Digital Living Network Alliance) Android phones are few and far between, but the Samsung Galaxy S will make it easy to get access to your other DLNA-enabled gear, such as HDTVs, notebooks and cameras.

Samsung Galaxy Swype software keyboard

The new Swype keyboard is appearing on a range of Android phones for the time being, and the Samsung Galaxy S comes with Swype as well.

Samsung Galaxy Social Hub

The Samsung Galaxy S promises to integrate every aspect of your life in a smart and sophisticated way. In addition to wireless integration with a variety of other devices via DLNA technology, the phone's Social Hub plugs users into social networking and e-mail.

Samsung Galaxy Specifications

The Samsung Galaxy S will be powered by a 1GHz processor, and shoots 720p HD videos with its integrated 5-megapixel camera. There's also a front-faced VGA web camera. The phone's camera offers Auto Focus, Self shot, Action shot, Add me, Stop motion, Cartoon shot, Smile shot and Panorama shot.

The Samsung Galaxy S supports a full range of audio and video formats; including MP3G4, H.264, H.263, H.263Sorenson, DivX HD / XviD and VC-1 video codecs, and 3GP (MP4), WMV (ASF), AVI (DivX), MKV and FLV video formats, as well as MP3, AAC, AAC+, eAAC+, WMA, OGG, AMR-NB, WAV, MID, AC3, IMY, FLAC and XMF audio formats.

The phone will also be supporting Bluetooth 3.0, USB 2.0 and Wi-Fi 802.11b/g/n when it comes to connectivity. Additionally, the Galaxy S comes with the Layar Reality Browser for some augmented reality fun as well as Exchange ActiveSync integration. Potential buyers will also get to choose from 8GB and 16GB versions of the Galaxy S, and there's also a microSD memory slot with support for up to 32GB cards.
