Sprint's CEO, Dan Hesse, will unveil the HTC Supersonic at CTIA 2010, the carrier's first smartphone equipped with Mobile WiMAX connectivity.
Wall Street Journal reports that the HTC Supersonic will be officially unveiled during a presentation made by Sprint's CEO, Dan Hesse, at CTIA 2010 next week. According to WSJ, Sprint will pay Clearwire a fee for each 4G customer, with a higher rate when the customer lives in a Clearwire market.
The Android Mobile OS blog recently posted a short video of Sprint's upcoming HTC Supersonic, a smartphone that'll connect to Clearwire's new Mobile WiMAX network. Boasting a 4.3-inch display, 1GHz Snapdragon processor and Android 2.1 with HTC Sense, the HTC Supersonic is expected to give smartphone fans a glimpse into the mobile future.
Verizon Wireless recently told WSJ that they'll start offering LTE phones in mid-2011, meaning that Sprint and Clearwire should get a head-start of approximately one year when it comes to offering a smartphone boasting higher data transfer speeds. That said, Verizon plans to offer LTE modems for laptops by the end of 2010.
