Verizon, AT&T and T-Mobile are gearing up its Android foot soldiers manufactured by Motorola. Will Motorola soon dominate the consumer QWERTY phone market?
While competitors rolled out one popular consumer QWERTY phone after the other, Motorola decided to regain lost feature phone customers by creating an army of Android foot soldiers. The general, the Motorola Droid, was released in November 2009 and has seen great success to date.
The first real wave of Android foot soldiers is on its way to store shelves now though, including the Devour, BackFlip and Cliq XT:
Will Motorola's new Android phones help the company take the lead in the important consumer QWERTY phone market? We think there's a good chance it'll happen. A year ago, it was difficult to find a phone in this range that didn't leave a lot to be desired. With Motorola's new Devour and BackFlip, the bar for consumer QWERTY phones have been raised to a new level. It would surprise us if this isn't the start of seeing Motorola dominate the consumer QWERTY phone market in the years ahead.
