In the age of cross-platform technologies, it's not surprising that Silverlight is the name of the game for Microsoft's PMX phones. Hands-on pictures of the Lion have now leaked.
Following yesterday's leak of the upcoming Pride PMX Phone by Sharp, Gizmodo has posted two hands-on images of the Lion PMX Phone, a horizontal QWERTY slider as opposed to the Pride's vertical slider form factor.
The aim of Microsoft's PMX division has been to integrate Danger in Microsoft's product philosophy and create phones that'll connect people to their social circles and other rich content, by offering an integrated end-to-end solution that enables people to interact with their friends, social communities and content through the Internet and Internet services.
According to tweets by Conflipper, the Lion sports a HVGA touchscreen while the Pride sports a QVGA touchscreen. Both phones are expected to take advantage of Danger and Zune technology for cloud and computer synchronization.
That said, one of the big questions out there has been whether the PMX Phones will offer apps? According to Gizmodo, the phones are based on XAML. In other words, the PMX Phones will be running Silverlight apps. Since the whole package here is cross-platform, it won't take long to create a third-party Twitter client for both PMX and WP7 phones (and Windows 7 netbooks, for that matter).
