Microsoft's first PMX phone, the Pride by Sharp, seems to be coming to Verizon Wireless soon. The first screenshots are now available.
With Windows Phone 7 Series now having gotten its official announcement, an operating system that aims to bring Microsoft to the frontier of mobile computing, it's time to unveil something more phone-oriented. According to Gizmodo, this unveiling is imminent and the first PMX phone will be the Pride for Verizon Wireless and manufactured by Sharp.
The aim of Microsoft's PMX division has been to integrate Danger in Microsoft's product philosophy and create phones that'll connect people to their social circles and other rich content, by offering an integrated end-to-end solution that enables people to interact with their friends, social communities and content through the Internet and Internet services.
According to Gizmodo, Verizon Wireless will promote the Pride as a social networking phone for the masses. We guess that's pretty much in line with what the Premium Mobile eXperience is supposed to be all about. The new PMX phone is also expected to take advantage of Danger and Zune technology for cloud and computer synchronization.
It's not yet known when Verizon Wireless and Microsoft will take the wraps off its new social networking contender, but Gizmodo thinks it's only a few weeks away from hitting store shelves. The first screenshots from the Pride can be found here. There's the possibility of seeing the Lion PMX Phone on Verizon Wireless eventually, a horizontal QWERTY slider as opposed to the vertical slider form factor of the Pride. The Pride and Lion sport QVGA and HVGA touchscreens, respectively.
