Motorola Droid owners waiting for the Android 2.1 update should be getting it soon, while Motorola Cliq owners will get it in Q2 2010.
According to Droid Life and FoneFrenzy, Motorola has issued a statement saying that Android 2.1 will be rolled out to Motorola Droid owners in an over-the-air software upgrade soon. Motorola says that they're working closely with Google and carriers to bring the latest and greatest Android has to offer, and in that regard, there's now a support page available with a timeline for each Android phone.
While the Motorola Droid on Verizon Wireless will get Android 2.1 soon, Motorola Cliq owners on T-Mobile will have to wait until Q2 2010 to receive it. The European Motorola Milestone should receive the upgrade by the end of March. The counterpart to the Motorola Cliq in Latin America and Asia-Pacific, the Motorola Dext should get the upgrade in Q3 2010.
The Motorola Milestone in Latin America and Asia-Pacific as well as the Motorola Dext in Europe, are all currently listed as "Upgrade under evaluation". Motorola promises to update this support page as new timeline information becomes available.
