Google Buzz, a new mobile and Web service that integrates with Gmail, is now available for Android 2.0+ phones like the Nexus One and Motorola Droid, as well as for iPhone users.

Prior to the release of the Nexus One by Google and HTC, Google's mobile team posted a short message on its blog about testing new services that would be rolled out soon. Yesterday, the Google Mobile Blog introduced Google Buzz for mobile. Given the nature of this new service, which aims to compete directly with certain other broad social networking services, we assume Google Buzz will become an important part of Android OS.

Google Buzz is a new product that integrates with your Gmail inbox, and lets you share Web links, photos, videos and more with your Gmail contacts. It also includes the ability to post status messages. Using the built-in GPS capability in phones, your given location can be used to identify places around you, select one of these places and attach it as a location tag to your posts, or read what others have posted about the place.

To start using Buzz for mobile, users should go to buzz.google.com from the phone's browser. It is currently available for Android 2.0+ and iPhone, and will be available for other platforms soon, including older versions of Android. There's also a Buzz layer on Google Maps for mobile, which is available on Android 1.6+, Windows Mobile, Symbian and iPhone (as Web maps).

The Google Mobile Blog has posted screenshots and an introduction video of Google Buzz for mobile here.
