The HTC Incredible for Verizon Wireless will be running Android 2.1, and is expected to offer an enhanced media experience out-of-box.
Pocketnow has posted several hands-on photos of the upcoming HTC Incredible on Verizon Wireless, an all-touch smartphone powered by Android 2.1 and Sense UI. According to the site, the HTC Incredible will also sport a Snapdragon processor described as "fast, really fast" - a term used when describing 1GHz ARM-based processors such as the Snapdragon lately.
HTC Incredible may live up to its name
The screen is expected to be a 3.7-inch WVGA capacitive touchscreen boasting AMOLED technology. The HTC Incredible will offer an integrated 5-megapixel camera with dual LED flash, autofocus and 720p video recording.
Furthermore, according to Phandroid the HTC Incredible is expected to offer an enhanced media experience out-of-box. Among the features should be DivX and Dolby support, revealing that HTC is now moving into new territory as far as equipping phones with multimedia technology is concerned.
The HTC Incredible will also sport an optical mouse pointer / joystick. Additionally the phone will offer 512MB NAND Flash memory and might be shipping with a 16GB microSD card.
Price and release date
There's no word on a release date or price tag for the HTC Incredible. The first rumors of this phone arrived shortly after Verizon Wireless introduced the Motorola Droid and HTC Droid Eris. If we should guess, Verizon Wireless will launch their next-generation multimedia smartphone in time to interfere with Apple's next move.
