A Nexus One software update has arrived as promised, aiming to improve the 3G connectivity as well as adding the pinch-to-zoom gesture to select applications.
As promised last week, Google has now released a software update to the Nexus One. The update will provide a general fix to help improve 3G connectivity on some Nexus One phones, but also introduces the pinch-to-zoom gesture in the phone's Browser, Gallery and Maps applications.
The Nexus One software update also provides Google Maps 3.4, which includes synchronization of starred items, search suggestions from your personal maps history as well as Night mode in Google Maps Navigation. The latter automatically changes the screen at night for easier viewing and driving. Google Goggles will now also be available directly from the Nexus One's "All Apps" menu.
Nexus One users will receive a software update message on the phone's notification bar throughout the week, though Google notes that most users will not receive it until the end of the week.
