"It is great to know that there are still people out there with money to spend at a time when we are in the grip of recession", says iVIP Black marketing director Matthew Rowe in a statement today.
If you're not familiar with iVIP Black, it's a brand new $1000 iPhone app that provides access to privileges and benefits across a range of luxury partners including private islands, a concierge, supercar club, private jets, theatres, members' clubs, butlers and more.
More than a dozen millionaires have purchased the app through Apple's iTunes App Store so far, after having completed a High Net Worth Individual certification to ensure the app is only used by millionaires.
And the reason to the iVIP Black app "success"? "Even millionaires are looking to tighten their belts and are buying the app because they want to take advantage of our privilege rates with luxury partners", Matthew Rowe concludes. Additionally iVIP Black includes a private "Lifestyle Consultation" where iVIP is sculpted to the individual user.
For the rest of us, however, there's always iVIP Blue. Whether our credit card limit is high enough to take advantage of the Blue app is another story, as it aims to rent or sell you the same stuff the Black app does.
