It turns out that Samsung will continue to be a member of the Symbian Foundation, and leaves the door open to release Symbian smartphones in the future.
A Samsung Senior VP recently told Digitimes that the company would no longer use Symbian in smartphones. According to Mobileburn, Samsung will however continue to be a member of the Symbian Foundation and will offer Symbian smartphones as long as there's market demand.
The Samsung Omnia HD and INNOV8 currently stand as the prime examples of the breed, two phones that have offered Nokia and Apple competition in the high-end multimedia smartphone market in Europe lately.
