Nokia today announced that the Ovi Store's gaming section will now be the company's exclusive channel to promote and sell games for Nokia devices. For years, Nokia has sold games through its N-Gage service, but this will come to an end in September 2010.
While the N-Gage service focused on a small number of popular titles, the Ovi Store already offers more than thousand game titles, including the few that have been selected as N-Gage titles to date.
The Ovi Store is supported by more than 100 Nokia devices in more than 180 countries, and a move towards making it easier for Nokia users to purchase apps and games. A centralized system for promotion of content has proved to be effective for Apple's App Store, and Nokia's Ovi Store is currently going down that road.
