We take a look at the smartphone leaks this week, including Sprint's smartphone roadmap for 2010 as well as a bunch of phones just around the corner for other carriers.
Sprint's 2010 smartphone roadmap revealed
Sascha Segan at Gearlog reports that Sprint executive David Owens recently revealed Sprint's smartphone roadmap for 2010. Among the goodies are software upgrades to the Sprint Hero and Samsung Moment, BlackBerry Tour with Wi-Fi connectivity as well as a general promise of several new HTC and BlackBerry phones to be released throughout 2010. HTC Droid Eris makes new appearance
Phonearena this week posted screenshots from an equipment guide of the HTC Droid Eris. BoyGeniusReport followed up with up-close hands-on shots of the smartphone, which is Verizon Wireless' version of the HTC Hero. The smartphone will be released as a sibling to the recently reviewed Motorola Droid. Sources: Phonearena, BoyGeniusReport
Sony Ericsson Rachael to be announced soon
Sony Ericsson recently launched a teaser page for the upcoming Sony Ericsson Rachael. The smartphone is supposed to be powered by Android 2.0, a Snapdragon processor, XPERIA Panel technology as well as a 4-inch WVGA multi-touch screen. More information can be found here.
BlackBerry Curve 2 for Verizon Wireless
If you're waiting for the BlackBerry Curve 2 for Verizon Wireless, CrackBerry has got their hands on a "late stage" pre-production unit. It offers Wi-Fi connectivity like the recently reviewed BlackBerry Storm 2, and we assume Verizon Wireless will get a Wi-Fi version of the BlackBerry Tour next year when Sprint says it will. Verizon's LG Chocolate Touch
Although it's not a smartphone, BoyGeniusReport has obtained a couple of photos of the upcoming LG Chocolate Touch for Verizon Wireless. The phone will be a more conventional upgrade of the LG Dare, rather than a EV-DO version of the LG BL40 wide-screen touch phone. That said, if it can provide a stable performance, that would be the most important thing now that there will be all-touch smartphones like the Storm 2 (offering high-quality multimedia playback) and Droid Eris in the carrier's lineup.
