The mobile world has a massive leak week behind it, but it seems to continue at the same pace this week. Find out what's coming this fall, including phones from Verizon Wireless, AT&T Wireless, Sprint, T-Mobile and Nokia.
July was rather slow both in terms of official announcements and leaks, but it now seems like the industry-wide vacation mode will soon be over. According to a number of sources, we'll first and foremost see what can only be described as an attack by Windows Mobile and Android phones this fall. Get the details below.
AT&T
BGR reveals that the HTC Tilt 2 and HTC Pure will arrive this fall, based on the HTC Touch Pro 2 and HTC Snap, respectively. Additionally, the Garmin Nuvifone G60 seems to be headed for AT&T too at some point. Possibly as early as this fall, depending on carrier testing we assume. Furthermore, last week we covered the leaks on what could be AT&T's first Android phone: the HTC Fiesta.
Sprint
Phonearena brings us preliminary specifications for Sprint's upcoming version of the HTC Touch Pro 2 as well as the Samsung Instinct S50. Both are scheduled to be released on September 3. Additionally, Sprint's CEO Dan Hesse recently "announced" that Sprint's first Android phone is finally entering the latest stages prior to release. With the Palm Pre, BlackBerry Tour, HTC TP2 and for instance a high-end Android smartphone in its lineup, smartphone customers preferring Sprint should have a lot to choose from soon. We also recommend checking out our smartphone plan comparison here, where Sprint does pretty well.
Verizon
AndroidAndMe has a scoop on what could be Verizon's first Android smartphone, the Motorola Sholes. Possibly boasting a TI OMAP3430 processor with a clock speed of 600 MHz and integrated PowerVR SGX 530 GPU, the Motorola Sholes would become a worthy addition to Verizon's smartphone lineup. Check out a nice image and full specs of the device here. Moreover, BGR recently reported that the Samsung Omnia 2 for Verizon Wireless could start selling as soon as August 23, along with the new LG Chocolate Touch.
T-Mobile
T-Mobile started off the second half of the year with the release of the myTouch 3G, and another Android smartphone, the HTC Click, could be in the pipeline. Tmonews has recently also reported several times that a successor to the T-Mobile G1 will be released this fall. That could possibly be the Motorola Morrison, according to TmoNews, a device that AndroidAndMe recently revealed the specifications of. As for Windows Mobile fans, T-Mobile is expected to release the next big thing soon.
Unlocked
MobileBulgaria has a nice hands-on gallery of the upcoming Nokia N900, and according to EndgadgetMobile, it recently passed through the FCC. In other words, it could be just a matter of time before it will be offered in Nokia's official U.S. stores. However, first it needs a proper announcement, and we assume it'll happen pretty soon, so it can be on display in Stuttgart at Nokia World 2009 on September 2.
