Check out our in-depth round-up of the hottest Android phones right now, including models from HTC, Sony Ericsson and T-Mobile.
Google earlier this year promised that close to 20 new Android models would be released around the world by the end of 2009. The T-Mobile G1 and HTC Magic will soon have several new competitors. Here's a look at four of them:
We reviewed the T-Mobile myTouch 3G this week, and it's one of the few $200 phones that we've rated "Very Good" here at infoSync. What's more, if you check out our review here, you'll quickly notice that several aspects of the phone can easily be improved to provide an even better and more personalized experience. And that's the unique thing about Android right now. We could easily imagine a $500 or $800 Android super-phone that could beat absolutely everything else on the market. If you look further down this list, Sony Ericsson may already be building it.
The biggest thing happening in the Android community right now is the HTC Hero. In our hands-on preview we found the HTC Hero to be the best looking, most capable Android phone to date. Of course, it'll be targeting the European and Asian markets initially, but now that it's been launched in Europe, it should be available in unlocked shops for approximately $650 in a couple of weeks (with Euro 3G only). The new HTC Sense interface and several software additions play a vital role in the HTC Hero. There's simply too much going on in the HTC Hero to skip reading our full story on it here.
Expansys the other day basically confirmed that the Sony Ericsson Rachael will be released as an Android-based Xperia smartphone. A combination of the Android developer community and Sony Ericsson's own efforts and skills clearly sounds enticing. Pick almost any Sony Ericsson review posted here at infoSync in the last decade, and Android would have solved a large part of the manufacturer's smartphone problems. Check out the specs of the upcoming Rachael here, and our recent story about the phone here.

According to TmoNews, T-Mobile will release the entry-level HTC Click later this year. A nice picture of the Android phone was recently leaked by a Vietnamese forum, showing a design that reminds us slightly of the Palm Centro. A TmoNews tipster reveals that the HTC Click will be sold for $99 with a contract, and should offer a resistive touch interface as well as snap-on covers for those who fancy that stuff. We recently reviewed T-Mobile's latest all-touch phone for teens, the Samsung Highlight, and it now seems like T-Mobile is preparing a smartphone counterpart.
