Sony's first netbook, the 10.1-inch Sony Vaio W, will hit store shelves this summer in the U.S. and Europe.
Sony today announced the arrival of the newest addition to the Vaio family: the Sony Vaio W series. Powered by Windows XP Home and Intel's Atom N280 processor (1.66GHz), the 10.1-inch Sony Vaio W is the Japanese manufacturer's first netbook to date.
The Sony Vaio W measures 17.96 by 26.78 by 3.24 cm and weighs in at 1.19 kg to be exact. Features include Wi-Fi 802.11n, Bluetooth and a Motion Eye webcam. The netbook will be equipped with 1GB RAM, 160GB hard drive and a 10.1-inch screen with a resolution of 1366 by 768 pixels.
The Sony Vaio W will start shipping in the U.S. and Europe in mid August for $500.
