Smartphones are hot nowadays, so Samsung decided to announce five new of the kind at CommunicAsia today. There's four new Omnia smartphones as well as the brand new Samsung Jet.
Samsung Jet
The Jet (specs) supports the latest smartphone features which include multi-task manager and Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync. It boasts a 3.1-inch AMOLED touchscreen with a WVGA resolution (800 by 480 pixels) and 16 million colors. That's a display providing four times as much screen real estate as what Samsung customers are currently used to - the holiday comes early this year, so to speak.
Furthermore, Samsung has gone an extra mile by including a brand new 800MHz application processor in the phone, promising significantly improved speed and performance when it comes to both operating system and multimedia playback. Furthermore, the it'll offer TouchWiz 2.0, featuring a 3D media gate UI and motion-response UI, smart unlock, as well as the now familiar widget-based home screen. Additionally, the phone will ship with the Dolfin Web browser which promises compatibility with full Websites such as social networking sites.
Other features found in the phone includes a 5-megapixel camera, built-in GPS, DNSe & SRS Sound Effect technology for improved sound quality, as well as DivX and XviD video support for video downloading and viewing.
There's no word on a release date or price tag for the Samsung Jet at the time of writing.
