HP releases new laptop models for the summer, ranging from the thin-and-light HP Pavilion dv2z to the HP Pavilion dv6t multimedia notebook.
HP Pavilion dv2z
The HP Pavilion dv2z is an affordable thin-and-light notebook for the student on the go. Less than 1-inch thick and starting at 3.81 pounds, the HP Pavilion dv2z sports a 12.1-inch mercury-free LED widescreen display and features HP MediaSmart software, which provides one-touch access to entertainment. The laptop offers a full notebook PC experience with ATI discrete graphics options, hard drive up to 500GB, optional Blu-ray drive and a wide range of ports. Powered by an AMD processor, the HP Pavilion dv2z will have a starting price of $600.
HP Pavilion dv6t
The HP Pavilion dv6t combines the latest entertainment features and mobile technologies with a stylish design. With HP MediaSmart software, the HP Pavilion dv6t promises easy access to watching movies, viewing photos, listening to music and creating videos. Its 16-inch LED widescreen display is also ideal for viewing HD content on the go. Configuration options include ATI or Nvidia GeForce discrete graphics, built-in TV tuner, Blu-ray drive and Intel Centrino processors. The HP Pavilion dv6t has a starting price of $650.
HP Pavilion dv6z Artist Edition 2
The HP Pavilion dv6z Artist Edition 2 includes all of the features of the HP Pavilion dv6z plus the winning design from the 2008 HP MTV notebook design contest - a design inspired by the sea and sky in Okinawa, Japan. The laptop also includes software applications from Corel, including Video Studio X2, Corel Painter Sketchpad and Corel Paint Shop Pro Photo X2. Additionally, users can create music with Magix Music Maker 14. The HP Pavilion dv6z Artist Edition 2 will have a starting price of $950, which would then include Windows Vista Home Premium, AMD Athlon X2 processor, ATI Radeon HD 3200 graphics and 250GB hard drive.
HP Pavilion dv3t
The HP Pavilion dv3t is a thin-and-light laptop which is about 1.25-inches thick and weighing just under 5 pounds. As the 3t model name designates, the machine is powered by an Intel processor and features a 13.3-inch display. We checked out its AMD counterpart, the dv3, at CES earlier this year, and found a machine that was more about looks than performance. With a 9-cell battery, the HP Pavilion dv3t is claimed to provide up to 7 hours of battery life. The HP Pavilion dv3t has a starting price of $650, which includes integrated Intel graphics, built-in VGA webcam and a DVD writer. Configuration options include Nvidia GeForce discrete graphics, Blu-ray drive and mobile broadband.
