Opera Mobile 9.7 beta for Windows Mobile includes several upgrades to enhance the download speeds as well as the overall performance of the browser.

Opera Mobile 9.7 beta is now available for Windows Mobile, featuring a mobile version of Opera Turbo. Using server-accelerated rendering and compression technology, Opera Mobile 9.7 beta promises a smoother Web browsing experience on especially EDGE networks. The company also claims that browsing speeds should be significantly faster on 3G networks. Since Opera Turbo compresses data up to 80 percent, users may also worry less about reaching carriers' monthly data limits.

Additional upgrades provided by Opera Mobile 9.7 beta include Opera Presto 2.2, Opera Widgets manager and Opera Widgets SDK. The former is Opera's rendering engine that helps display Web pages on Windows Mobile phones up to 25 percent faster. It's the same rendering engine used in Opera's desktop browser. Opera Mobile 9.7 beta can be downloaded here.
