According to AndroidGuys, T-Mobile G1 users in the U.S. can now perform an upgrade to Android 1.5 Cupcake manually. The blog has dug up direct download links as well as a step-by-step explanation of how to get the goodies up and running. In case you don't want to mess around with your G1, T-Mobile USA should also start pushing the upgrade automatically in the next few days.
With Android 1.5 Cupcake, users are promised a smoother experience when typing with the on-screen keyboard, easy access to favorites, video recording/playback/sharing, better web experience with enhanced browser, hands-free calls and listening with Stereo Bluetooth as well as several UI refinements and performance improvements to the overall phone experience.
