Following yesterday's introduction of the Nokia N86 (specs) in Singapore, Nokia today made a splash at the Mobile World Congress with the same phone. As the first Nokia N series phone sporting a 8-megapixel sensor, it's for sure a contender to look out for later this year. Unfortunately, only a European version was announced today, but an American version could possibly show up down the road.
The phone's 8-megapixel camera has received a 28mm wide-angle Carl Zeiss lens, and offers three f-stops: F2.4, F3.2 and F4.8. It's also got a shutter speed of 1/1000 sec and auto focus. What's missing? Xenon flash and optical zoom.
Like all other new N series phones, the phone will offer N-Gage, Ovi cloud services, Nokia Maps. Music lovers will get a 3.5mm headphone jack, dedicated music keys and Nokia Music Store support. Courtesy of the UPnP support, the phone can also stream music to supported home theater gear. Furthermore, users will get 8GB of internal memory, and a microSD memory slot supports up to 16GB cards. Lastly, the phone offers the Nokia Browser with Mini Map, Wi-Fi connectivity and Bluetooth 2.0.
The phone will be available in Europe sometime in Q2 2009. The price has yet to be announced.
