Verizon Wireless hasn't released new phones for a while, and several readers wonder when to expect the 2009 phones.
Verizon Wireless usually starts slow every year, and the carrier is currently clearing its inventory before releasing replacements as well as entirely new models. If you don't care about the latest and greatest phones, you can now get some pretty good deals when shopping for Verizon Wireless phones.
Starting in March, we expect to see new Verizon Wireless phones being released every month. The BlackBerry Curve 8330 and the Pearl 8130 will likely be replaced by Verizon Wireless versions of the BlackBerry Curve 8900 and the BlackBerry Pearl Flip.
For those of you who are waiting for the BlackBerry Bold for Verizon Wireless, a version of that smartphone is expected to replace the BlackBerry 8830 at some point later this year. We're also expecting to see a replacement for the Verizon Wireless XV6900, though it may not arrive until the second half of 2009.
According to BGR, the carrier will also release new touchscreen phones from LG and Motorola this year, such as the LG Versa and Motorola Torch. The LG Versa is supposed to replace the LG Voyager, while the Motorola Torch could be replacing the Motorola Krave ZN4 sometime this year. Additionally, we assume there'll be a range of new Samsung phones on Verizon Wireless this year, like every year.
