Sony Ericsson W810i
Score: 90% When: April 2006 Worth: €425 What: Music phones, Sony Ericsson phones
Picking up where the W800i left off, the Sony Ericsson W810i offers improved music navigation in tandem with the same excellent music management capabilities and decent amount of bundled memory as its predecessor. Out-of-box audio quality is on par with the high standards we’ve come to except from the handset maker, while we’re slightly disappointed by the lack of stereo Bluetooth audio. These niggles aside, the W810i makes for a stellar music phone with side servings of a 2 Megapixel camera and EDGE. More...

Sony Ericsson K800i
Score: 88% When: June 2006 Worth: €475 What: Phones, Camera phones
Although more susceptible to camera shake than a low-end digital camera, the Sony Ericsson K800i is in fact capable of replacing just such a product; a considerable feat, even though the vast majority of users will not want to rely on it for preserving precious memories. Its imaging prowess is backed up by strong performance in the areas of calling and messaging, while its browser is of the rather mediocre sort; handy, then, that the overall impression is picked up by the inclusion of a stereo FM radio with RDS, a RSS reader and even a sprinkle of stereo Bluetooth audio for an otherwise unnoteworthy MP3 player. Sony Ericsson M600i
Score: 84% When: July 2006 Worth: €500 What: Phones, Business phones
Quite possibly the ideal size for a business phone, the Sony Ericsson M600i is but a hair's width from scoring full marks in the messaging, productivity and browsing departments, hampered only by the smaller-than-the-competition sizes of its otherwise excellent touch screen and thumbboard. It also delivers a solid impression in every other department, with the near-sole disappointment being its lack of a bundled USB cable and USB charging support. Add good battery life and nice touches such as a scroll wheel, stereo Bluetooth audio and a clever, agenda-style standby screen, and what emerges is a winning recipe. More...

Sony Ericsson K750i
Score: 80% When: June 2005 Worth: €350 What: Camera phones, Sony Ericsson phones
Compact yet high quality, Sony Ericsson’s K750i is the first camera phone to merge a 2 Megapixel camera with a small form factor and still achieve results with good colour saturation and comparably crisp detail. The inclusion of auto and macro focus further reinforce a positive impression, even though we’re slightly disappointed by its poor synchronization performance. Connectivity in general is also a tad limited, but the high resolution screen provides a window to an otherwise impressive handset. More...

Sony Ericsson W900i
Score: 80% When: December 2005 Worth: €550 What: 3G phones, Music phones
As a 3G phone, the Sony Ericsson W900i falls short only in the areas of web browsing and battery life - the latter of which is due to its extensive feature set. Despite these shortcomings, however, the handset goes on to impress with snappy and comprehensive connectivity, hassle-free video calling and a glorious high-resolution screen. As for music, the W900i does an admirable job of replacing lower-end MP3 players with its high sound quality and intuitive user interface, but doesn’t offer the most extensive memory with only 512 MB out-of-box. Sony Ericsson K610i
Score: 80% When: July 2006 Worth: €300 What: Phones, 3G phones
The K610i is all about balance - the right kinds of features, ease of use and attractive looks. Basics such as voice/video calling and messaging perform with aplomb, while the camera is one of the best we've seen sans autofocus. Sadly, the omission of earphones, insufficient memory and limited music controls make for a poor music proposal out of the box, even though memory card expansion and stereo Bluetooth audio support enables a near-full rectification of this predicament for those willing to pay. Sony Ericsson W300i
Score: 72% When: July 2006 Worth: €275 What: Phones, Music phones
Delivering music on the cheap, Sony Ericsson's W300i delivers something of a contrast-filled out-of-box experience with a first-rate interface and sound quality - offset by low storage and an otherwise anemic feature set. Fortunately, memory expansion and a friendly price tag saves the day, making this an excellent alternative for those desiring a mix of solid call and message handling and excellent music capabilities.
